According to North Sydney Reginal Organisation of Councils (NSROC) the upgrade to St Leonards Station will provide an effective bus/rail interchange that improves amenities to businesses and residents in the local area.
The Proposed Interchange will Provide:
- A new bus interchange from the Pacific Highway that will allow safe pickup for commuters
- Direct pedestrian access (underground) between the bus interchange and St Leonards Station
- $46 Million project due for completion in 2022
St Leonards Station is at the centre of three councils: Willoughby, Lane Cove and North Sydney. NSROC has identified it as a key regional project which benefits the residents, workers and economies of all three councils.
What will it Achieve?
The transport interchange will accommodate the future growth of St Leonards. It addresses the poor connectivity and accessibility of the existing bus and train station interchange. This is particularly needed, given the expansion of the North Shore Hospital Precinct.
